We are here for you.
Vibebo was created to help people communicate more openly while giving recipients meaningful control over what reaches them and what they choose to make public.
Anonymous communication can make it easier to ask an awkward question, give honest feedback, share a memory or say something supportive.
That freedom should never come at someone else’s expense.
Bullying, harassment, intimidation, threats, hate and other abusive behaviour are not welcome on Vibebo. Keeping the community safe is something we all have a part in, so here is how Vibebo works to prevent abuse, what you can do when something feels wrong and how serious concerns are handled.
This guide explains practical ways to look after yourself and other people while using Vibebo.
Before you share your link
A little preparation can make the experience much easier to manage.
Review Message Filtering
Open Settings, then Safety, then Message Filtering and review the options available to your account.
Vibebo AI Sentinel can help classify incoming messages that may be spam, harmful or sexually suggestive. Choose the filtering options that fit the kind of conversation you are inviting.
Your needs can change. Review these settings again when your audience, event or reason for sharing changes.
Add Hidden Words
Hidden Words let you choose particular words, phrases, nicknames, topics or emojis that you do not want appearing in messages sent to your profile.
Start with language that is actually relevant to your situation. A focused list is usually more useful than trying to predict every possible unwanted message.
You can change your Hidden Words whenever your needs change.
Use a clear prompt
A good prompt can prevent confusion before a message is ever sent.
Tell people what you are inviting. Ask for questions about an event, feedback on a project, a memory, an opinion or whatever fits the moment.
If something is out of scope, say so clearly.
When a message makes you uncomfortable
You do not have to reply, publish the message or work out who sent it.
The message can stay private while you decide what you want to do.
Give yourself time
You do not have to make an immediate decision about an upsetting message.
Read it when you are ready. Leave it private if that feels right. You can return to it later, hide it, block the sender or report it depending on what has happened.
Block the anonymous sender
If you do not want further interaction from the same anonymous sender, use the block action available with the message.
Blocking does not reveal who sent the message. Vibebo applies the control internally while the sender remains anonymous to you.
You can use blocking because a sender repeatedly crosses a boundary, because a message is personally targeted, or simply because you do not want further contact from that sender.
Report content that crosses the line
Use Report when content appears to breach Vibebo’s Community Guidelines or raises a safety concern that should be reviewed.
Blocking and reporting are separate choices. You can block without reporting, report without blocking, or use both when both outcomes matter.
Choose the reporting reason that best describes the problem and include useful context when the reporting flow asks for it.
Pause your link when you need space
You do not have to keep receiving new anonymous messages.
If the attention has become too much, an event has ended or you simply want a break, pause the affected link.
Your existing inbox remains available. You can turn the link back on when you are ready to receive new submissions again.
If a message suggests immediate danger
Vibebo is not an emergency service.
If you believe that you or another person may be in immediate danger, contact the appropriate emergency service or local authority where you are.
If a message involves a serious threat, child sexual exploitation, intimate image abuse, stalking, extortion or other potentially criminal conduct, consider seeking appropriate specialist or law enforcement support.
Do not put yourself at additional risk by trying to investigate an anonymous sender.
Protect personal information
A private inbox is still a place where personal information should be handled carefully.
Do not send passwords, financial details, identity documents, home addresses or other sensitive information simply because the conversation feels private.
If you decide to publish a received message with your response, read the original message again first. Remove names, contact details, workplace information, private locations or anything else that should not become public.
Remember that public content can travel
A message received privately stays private unless the recipient chooses to publish it.
Once something is published to a public Vibebo surface or shared elsewhere, other people may be able to copy, quote, save or reshare it.
Only publish material you are comfortable making public.
Use Channels with care
A Vibebo Channel is a shared inbox.
That means messages can be reviewed by the members who have access to that Channel rather than by one individual recipient.
If a Channel is intended for a limited group, use the appropriate private access and invitation controls. Sender access and member access are different. Someone who is invited to submit anonymously does not automatically become a Channel member.
Channel owners should review membership and roles when a project, event or team changes.
Be responsible when sending anonymously
Anonymity gives people room to be more open. It does not give anyone permission to harass, threaten, exploit or repeatedly target another person.
Do not use a Vibebo link to send abuse, hate, sexual harassment, spam, private information or other content that breaches our Community Guidelines.
The recipient may not know who you are, but Vibebo can still use limited internal safety signals where needed to apply blocking, abuse prevention and moderation.
Keep your account secure
Protect the account that controls your inbox.
Use a strong password or a supported passkey. Keep access to your email account secure. Sign out on devices other people can use.
Do not share verification codes, sign in links or account recovery information with someone else.
Know what AI moderation can and cannot do
AI Sentinel can help with moderation. It does not replace your judgement.
A message can pass an automated filter and still feel unwanted to you. A harmless message can also be interpreted differently by an automated system because language and context are complicated.
That is why Message Filtering works alongside Hidden Words, blocking, reporting and your own decisions about what remains private or becomes public.
When you need support beyond Vibebo
Some situations need more than a product control.
If something you receive leaves you distressed, frightened or unsafe, consider speaking with someone you trust or seeking appropriate professional or specialist support.
Our Resources page brings together independent organisations and directories covering mental health, child safety, online abuse, intimate image abuse and other concerns.
If the situation is urgent, use the appropriate emergency service in your location rather than waiting for a Vibebo report to be reviewed.
You are still in control
A difficult message does not take away your choices.
You can leave it private. You can block. You can report. You can pause your link. You can ask for support.
Use the option that best protects you and the experience you want to have.
