This policy explains how anonymous gifting works on Vibebo, how people without a Vibebo account claim a gift and the safeguards we use to protect recipient privacy and reduce fraud.
What anonymous gifting means
A sender can choose to keep their identity hidden from the recipient. Anonymous means the sender identity is not shown to the recipient simply because they sent the gift.
Anonymous does not mean untraceable. Vibebo can retain purchaser, payment, device, safety and transaction information where reasonably necessary for fraud prevention, customer support, safety, accounting and lawful disclosure.
Gifting is optional
Gifting is off by default for Vibebo account holders. An account holder must deliberately enable the feature before their VibeboX profile can receive gifts through the account holder gifting journey.
Recipients can later disable gifting or use available block and report controls.
Private delivery information
The recipient delivery address is private fulfilment data. It is never displayed on the public VibeboX profile.
A sender does not receive the recipient address through Vibebo. Approved suppliers and carriers receive only the delivery information needed to fulfil and deliver the order.
How gifting works for Vibebo account holders
An account holder can enable gifting, add private delivery information and build a wishlist from eligible Vibebo Gifts products.
Their public profile can show approved wishlist items and, where relevant, gifting progress without exposing private delivery information.
A sender can fund a complete gift or, where available, contribute Gift Credit towards an eligible wishlist item.
How gifting works for people without a Vibebo account
A sender can arrange a complete surprise gift for a person who does not use Vibebo. Partial Gift Credit contributions are reserved for the account holder gifting journey.
The sender provides the recipient name and either an email address or mobile number. The sender does not provide the recipient home address.
The sender payment is authorised but may not be captured immediately.
The gift claim process
• Vibebo sends a plain service notification containing a short gift reference.
• The notification contains no clickable claim link and does not ask for payment, card details, bank information or a home address.
• The recipient visits Vibebo directly and opens Gift Claim.
• The recipient enters the gift reference and verifies the email address or mobile number that received the notification.
• The recipient sees the waiting gift and chooses whether to accept or decline it.
• If accepted, the recipient supplies their own delivery address privately to Vibebo.
• The authorised payment is then captured and the gift moves to fulfilment.
• If the gift is declined or the claim period expires before capture, the payment authorisation is normally cancelled.
Claim period
The initial operating claim period is normally five days. Vibebo may adjust the claim period where necessary to reflect payment provider authorisation limits, fraud controls or operational requirements. The applicable claim information will be shown to the purchaser or recipient where relevant.
How to verify a genuine Vibebo gift
A genuine first gift notification from Vibebo does not ask the recipient to click a claim link.
Recipients should visit Vibebo directly and enter the gift reference themselves.
Vibebo will never require a recipient to pay money, provide card details or provide bank information simply to receive or verify a gift.
If a reference is invalid or a message appears suspicious, do not provide personal information. Contact Vibebo directly through the contact details published on the service.
Delivery regions
Where the sender does not know the recipient address, the sender selects the expected recipient delivery region and pays the relevant delivery charge. The recipient later supplies the exact address privately.
If the address does not match the delivery region paid for, Vibebo may pause the order and contact the purchaser before fulfilment. The recipient will not be asked to pay the difference in order to claim the gift.
Gift messages
A sender can add an optional message and, where available, choose a handwritten Vibebo card. The sender can remain anonymous or choose to reveal their name.
Messages are moderated under Vibebo safety rules. Threats, harassment, attempts to expose private information and other unsafe or unlawful content may be rejected or removed.
Anonymous gifting does not create a private messaging thread between the sender and recipient.
Unwanted gifts and safety
A recipient can ask Vibebo to block future gifts or gift invitations where available. Repeated unwanted gifting attempts may be restricted through rate limits, fraud controls or account action.
Where a gift is connected to harassment, fraud or a serious safety concern, Vibebo may preserve and use relevant records and may disclose information where lawfully required.
Adult recipients
Vibebo Gifts is launching for adult recipients. We may restrict or refuse a gifting journey where we reasonably believe the age requirement has not been met.
