Effective date: 19 August 2026
This Cookie & Tracking Technologies Policy explains how Webcilo Inc. Limited (“Webcilo”, “Vibebo”, “we”, “us” or “our”) uses cookies and similar storage or access technologies when you use Vibebo.
It should be read together with the Vibebo Privacy Policy.
1. WHAT COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES ARE
Cookies are small pieces of information stored on a browser or device. Similar technologies may include local storage, software development kits (“SDKs”), pixels, tags, device storage, identifiers and other technologies that store information on, or access information from, a device.
We use these technologies for purposes such as:
- keeping Vibebo secure and working;
- maintaining sessions and authentication;
- remembering settings and preferences;
- preventing abuse, fraud and automated misuse;
- understanding how Vibebo is used;
- measuring performance and diagnosing errors; and
- improving the Service.
Some technologies are essential to provide a service you request. Others are optional or are subject to a statutory exception only if specific legal conditions are met.
2. HOW COOKIE RULES APPLY TO YOU
Cookie and similar-technology rules differ by location. Vibebo follows the requirements that apply to the technology and to the people using the Service, including requirements to provide information, obtain consent or offer an objection or opt-out where required.
Some technologies are necessary to provide a feature or secure the Service. Others may be optional or may be permitted without prior consent only when the conditions of an applicable legal exception are met.
Where applicable law requires consent before storing information on or accessing information from your device, we obtain that consent unless an applicable exception allows the technology to operate without it.
3. OUR COOKIE CATEGORIES
3.1 Strictly necessary technologies
These technologies are required to provide functionality you request or to keep the Service secure and operational.
They may be used for purposes such as:
- authenticating an account;
- maintaining a logged-in session;
- protecting forms and requests against cross-site request forgery and similar attacks;
- storing privacy or consent choices;
- load balancing;
- fraud and abuse prevention where the technology is necessary for that purpose;
- security and service integrity; and
- remembering information required to complete an action you requested.
Where the law treats a technology as strictly necessary, we do not ask for consent because the Service cannot reasonably provide the requested function without it.
You may still be able to block these technologies through browser or device settings, but doing so may cause parts of Vibebo to stop working correctly.
3.2 Preferences and functionality
These technologies remember choices that affect how Vibebo appears or behaves, such as interface preferences, language, display settings or other user-selected functionality.
Where applicable law permits a preference technology to operate without prior consent, we may use it after providing any information or objection mechanism the law requires.
Where an exception does not apply, we will obtain consent where required.
3.3 Statistical and analytics technologies
We use analytics to understand how Vibebo is used and to improve the Service.
Analytics may help us measure matters such as:
- numbers of visits;
- pages or features used;
- broad device and browser categories;
- user journeys;
- performance and errors;
- traffic sources; and
- aggregate usage trends.
Depending on the laws that apply, some analytics technologies may operate with consent while others may be permitted under a limited legal exception.
Where we rely on an exception rather than consent, we use the technology only within the conditions of that exception. Those conditions may require that:
- the sole purpose is to produce statistical information about use of Vibebo with a view to improving the Service;
- the technology is not used for advertising or cross-service monitoring;
- individual-level information is retained only for as long as needed to produce the statistics;
- the resulting information is appropriately aggregated;
- technical and organisational measures are used to reduce identification risk;
- users receive clear information about the processing; and
- users are given a simple and free way to object.
If a technology no longer qualifies for the legal basis or exception we rely on, we change the configuration or obtain consent where required.
3.4 Advertising and cross-service tracking technologies
If Vibebo uses advertising, remarketing or cross-service tracking technologies, we will treat them as optional technologies and obtain consent where required before activation.
We do not treat a service-improvement analytics exception as permission for personalised advertising or cross-service monitoring.
The fact that a technology is supplied by an analytics or advertising company does not determine its legal category by itself. The category depends on how Vibebo actually configures and uses it.
4. GOOGLE ANALYTICS
Vibebo uses Google Analytics to understand how the Service is used and to help improve performance, usability and product decisions.
Google Analytics may process information about interactions with Vibebo, including page views, events, device and browser characteristics, approximate location, traffic source and first-party identifiers used to distinguish users or sessions.
Google Analytics is not used by Vibebo as a recipient-facing sender-identification feature. Data from Google Analytics is not provided to a Vibebo recipient as a clue about who sent a particular anonymous message.
When cookie-based measurement is enabled, Google Analytics may use first-party cookies such as:
Cookie: _ga
Provider: Google Analytics
Purpose: distinguishes users for analytics measurement.
Default Google expiration: up to 2 years, subject to browser limits and our configuration.
Category: Analytics/statistical.
Cookie: _ga_<container-id>
Provider: Google Analytics
Purpose: persists session state for the relevant Google Analytics property.
Default Google expiration: up to 2 years, subject to browser limits and our configuration.
Category: Analytics/statistical.
The exact cookie name containing the container ID depends on the Google Analytics property used by Vibebo. Browsers may impose shorter practical lifetimes than Google’s default.
How Google Analytics operates depends on our configuration and the law that applies:
- where an applicable analytics exception permits use without prior consent, we rely on it only while its conditions are met; or
- where applicable law requires consent, the relevant analytics technology is activated only after that consent is obtained.
We will not describe Google Analytics data as fully anonymous merely because names or email addresses are not sent to Google.
5. VIBEBO AUDIENCE INSIGHTS ARE SEPARATE
Vibebo may also measure profile, page or Channel visits in order to provide privacy-protected audience insights to the relevant account holder.
These first-party audience insights are separate from Google Analytics.
Where device storage or access technologies are used for audience measurement, we assess the applicable legal rule for that specific technology and purpose.
Recipient-facing audience insights are designed to show aggregate patterns rather than expose an individual visitor or anonymous sender. We may suppress low-volume data, reduce geographic precision, group attributes or apply other privacy thresholds where necessary.
A cookie or identifier used for safety, blocking or audience measurement does not give the account holder a right to receive the underlying identifier.
6. SAFETY, SECURITY AND BLOCKING TECHNOLOGIES
Vibebo may use cookies, local storage, identifiers or similar technologies to help:
- prevent spam and automated abuse;
- enforce blocks;
- detect attempts to circumvent safety controls;
- protect accounts and sessions;
- prevent fraud; and
- secure the Service.
Where a technology is strictly necessary for security, fraud prevention or the function requested by the user, it may be permitted without consent where applicable law recognises an exception for that purpose.
Where the information is personal information, we still apply applicable data-protection principles, including purpose limitation, data minimisation, security and appropriate retention.
7. LOCAL STORAGE AND APP TECHNOLOGIES
Vibebo may use browser local storage or equivalent application storage for matters such as session support, interface state, privacy choices, temporary feature data or security information.
Our mobile applications may also use SDKs or device identifiers supplied by operating systems or third-party service providers.
The same privacy principles apply regardless of whether the technology is technically called a “cookie”. We assess storage and access technologies according to their actual purpose, operation and the laws that apply.
8. COOKIE AND TECHNOLOGY REGISTER
Cookie names, providers and durations can vary according to device, environment and configuration.
Where available, Cookie Settings or an in-product notice provides the most current information about the technologies in use.
That information may include:
- cookie or technology name;
- provider;
- purpose;
- category;
- whether it is first-party or third-party;
- duration or expiry;
- whether consent is required or an exception is relied upon; and
- any relevant objection or control.
9. YOUR CHOICES
Depending on the technology and applicable law, Vibebo may provide controls that allow you to:
- accept optional technologies;
- reject optional technologies;
- withdraw consent;
- object to qualifying statistical or preference technologies used under an exception;
- change your previous choices; or
- access information about the technologies in use.
Where consent is required, refusing an optional technology will not prevent access to unrelated parts of the Service merely because you refused consent.
Withdrawing consent does not make previous processing that was lawful at the time unlawful.
10. COOKIE SETTINGS
Where a Cookie Settings control is available, you can use it to review or change applicable choices.
Where consent is required, our controls allow you to accept or reject optional technologies and change your choice later.
Technologies treated as strictly necessary may not appear as switchable because disabling them could prevent the requested service from functioning.
11. BROWSER AND DEVICE CONTROLS
Most browsers allow you to view, delete or block cookies. Mobile operating systems may also provide controls for application permissions or identifiers.
Browser-level blocking can operate more broadly than Vibebo’s own controls and may disable necessary functionality.
Deleting cookies may also remove saved choices, which can cause Vibebo to ask for your preference again.
12. DO NOT TRACK AND SIMILAR SIGNALS
Browser “Do Not Track” signals have historically not provided a single universally adopted legal standard.
Where a legally recognised or technically supported privacy preference signal becomes applicable to a particular technology we use, we will assess and implement it as required.
This section does not replace any specific right to consent, withdraw consent or object that applies under applicable privacy or data-protection law.
13. THIRD-PARTY PROVIDERS
Third-party providers involved in storage/access technologies may process information under their own terms or as processors acting on our behalf, depending on the arrangement.
Where a provider processes personal information for Vibebo, we assess appropriate data-protection terms and international-transfer safeguards where required.
Our Privacy Policy explains the categories of recipients and international-transfer approach in more detail.
14. RETENTION
We configure cookies and similar technologies so that they are retained only for as long as justified by their purpose and applicable law.
Where we rely on a legal exception that requires individual-level information to be used only for aggregation, we do not retain that individual-level information longer than necessary for that process.
Where a cookie has a technical maximum lifetime, that does not mean we will necessarily retain associated server-side personal information for the same period.
15. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR USERS IN NIGERIA
Where cookies or similar technologies process personal data relating to people in Nigeria, the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and other applicable Nigerian privacy requirements apply. We provide appropriate information and choices and process personal data collected through these technologies only on a lawful basis.
Your data-protection rights and complaint routes are described in the Vibebo Privacy Policy.
16. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR USERS IN THE UNITED KINGDOM
For users in the United Kingdom, PECR governs storage/access technologies alongside UK GDPR where personal data is involved.
Unless an exception applies, PECR generally requires clear information and prior consent before Vibebo stores information on, or accesses information from, a user’s device.
Current UK law includes limited exceptions for purposes such as strictly necessary functionality and certain statistical or preference technologies. Where Vibebo relies on the statistical-purpose exception, the sole purpose must be to collect statistical information about use of the Service with a view to improving it; the resulting data must be appropriately aggregated; individual-level personal data must not be kept longer than necessary for aggregation; and users must receive clear information and a simple, free way to object. The exception does not cover personalised advertising or cross-service monitoring.
If a technology does not meet the conditions of an applicable exception, we obtain consent where PECR requires it.
17. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this policy when we change technologies, providers, legal bases, cookie categories or regulatory requirements.
Where a change requires new consent, we will obtain that consent rather than treating an old choice as permission for a materially different purpose.
The effective date at the top of this policy shows when the current version applies.
